VERY VERY SAD!!

I just got some very difficult news. My sister was told, or understood, that her cancer was NOT small cell and is treatable, should react well to chemo etc. However, today, at her appt., she was told that she misunderstood. They told her that it IS small cell (which is aggressive, rapidly progressing, and does not react as good to chemo) and that it may have already spread to her brain and bones. It is in her lymph nodes and both lungs.

PLEASE, please pray for my sister. The rug has been pulled out from under us all.

I got some good news today... after bleeding and having problems (probably due to stress with what is going on with my sister and all the jerks out there who insist on making life difficult because they have nothing better to do than to post nasty notes on my blog, in my email, and spread lies to everyone who will listen to them.................) I had an ultrasound today and got to see baby. Baby is looking great and moving all over. We even seen hands and feet, not to mention that beautiful beating heart.

I feel like it has been such a total roller coaster and I am totally losing it. Can I even sit with my sister during her treatments if I am pregnant??

And yet one more HUGE twist in my roller coaster ride is my nephew going to Iraq. Tomorrow is the official "send-off" which we will be attending, to salute our troops and say "farewell" for up to TWO years!! My nephew is the sweetest young man you would ever, ever want to know. I think he is really torn up with what is going on with my sister (his aunt who is much like a mother to him, and all of us). He may really have a hard time leaving now. I don't want him to go. I support our military 100%, but I don't want him to leave right now.

Thank you so much for your support and prayers! It is so greatly appreciated.

    Tarra,

If she gets radiation, you cannot be with her if you are pregant. They don't want to give a pregant women and x-ray or a CAT scan so they won't let you in for radiation treatments, however they may let you be with her for Chemo. But that will depend on how her immune system reacts to it because chemo also kills off your immune system.
