I am so far behind on blogging... so much going on. Just a quick update about my previous entry - the situation with the horrible guy from the credit card company has gone fine. I made several complaints about him and the legal department is actually investigating him now!! I hope they fire him, seriously!
Also, completed the interview with the gal writing an article for Oprah magazine. It went really well. She said it may be up to 6 mos before it comes out. Lots of red tape, editing, all that stuff to go through. She was a lovely person and very nice to visit with, and has PCOS herself.
As you know my mom had surgery last week. They took out more cancer in the size of the palm of the doctor's hand and they took out lymph nodes from under one arm. She rreceived the pathology results and the good news is out of all the lymph nodes they found cancer in one. They also cut nerves and she will have numbness in that arm from now on. The doctor said it was the lesser of two evils (regarding possibly leaving cancer behind). She had the tubes that were draining the inflammation removed Monday and now she just has to heal up. It will take approximately one month to heal, and then she will be doing chemo and radiation.
My nephew who was deployed with the National Guard in August snuck in a phone call to her this last week to see how she was doing. He said that if she loses all her hair he plans to shave his head bald. He will probably enjoy shaving his head since he is going to be in very hot temps in the desert! Mom was very honored that he would do that for her.
My oldest daughter wants me to check into donating her hair to Locks of Love - where they make wigs for cancer patients. She is certain that grandma and Auntie Candice should both have a wig of her red hair! I told her that they would probably love her hair, but prefer that it go to a child who needs it. So I will have to check and see how long her hair has to be and if I can stand to let her do it. Her hair is down to the small of her back.
A little funny: Tristan (7) has been spelling everything and is so excited about it. I think that phonics, reading, and spelling are all of the sudden really starting to make sense. So on the drive home from the grocery store yesterday he yelled from the back seat, "Mom! I know how to spell FIT! F-A-T, Fit!!" I said, "Close, but it's F-I-T. You spelled 'fat'." In a very disappointed tone he said, "Oh... no offense!" I told him none taken! ha!! I had to laugh! I only hope he means I am fat because I am pregnant and not just in general... although he has probably heard me talk about wanting to lose weight more times than he ever needed to hear.
Well you all have a wonderful day!

Tarra,
Is that a recent pic in your profile? I too am behind (in my blog) and realized some of my posts didn't post (so I will catch up my blog soon).
Prayers for your mom and nephew. His daughter's name is one of my favorites.
I donated my hair to Lock of Love www.jackiesue.com/hair - if you have questions, I can help.
Just wanted to post a quick comment! Love your blog.
*HUGS*
