Cholesterol meds & surgery date

Just a tiny update quickly, while I juggle kids and everything else here. Lapband is post-poned until insurance comes back with an approval. The clinic was SLOW in getting all my paper work to the ins. co. You should see my file - it's gigantic - so the poor coordinator gal had A LOT to go through to get what she needed out of there. Pray for me to get a reply from my insurance this week. They don't generally say "no". In fact, it is a covered procedure, so one way or another it will happen. I just want it NOW and not later. I will either get an approval in which I will have the procedure within 2-3 weeks (I am hoping for May 31st). OR I will get a "we need more documentation of this or that" and then I will have to get that to them and wait for an approval. I meet the guidelines so there is really no reason to deny me as long as they get all the documentation they need. I really have my heart set on this.

I have been taking cholesterol meds for almost a month now and, in addition to make me not sleep well at night, they make me hurt like hell. I mean, it's just really setting in now and I hurt so bad. My arms, from my shoulders to my fingers, aching all the time. All my joints and muscles are aching. I can't take this medication anymore. I don't honestly believe in cholesterol drugs anyway however, it's one of those things that I am supposed to try *before* surgery as required by my ins. I have, in the past, tried one other cholesterol drug and it did the same thing. So that's an acceptable reason to stop taking it.

My opinion is this. Take vitamin C and chelation therapy and follow your IAAP plan and you will never get heart disease. I believe that 110%. So, off the cholesterol meds I am going. Today.

Thanks for the notes and the comments, I really appreciate the support. I have some really great online friends.

Blessings,
Tarra

Recently diagnosed as needing meds for high colesterol, am not one who likes to take meds. I was told once I start taking it, my colesterol will not go down on my own if I stop taking it and make changes in my weight etc. I was told I would always have to take meds for it to keep it down. I am 65 pounds overweight and am a 64 yr old disabled senior, any advice?
