MY STORY...
As most of you probably know, I
have
polycystic ovary syndrome which causes insulin resistance. Insulin
resistance
is simultaneously like Diabetes and completely the opposite of
Diabetes. Your
body produces tons of insulin, but your body doesn’t know how to use
it. It
means that your cells starve and everything you eat gets converted
directly
into fats. Because your body is “starving”, you crave carbohydrates for
energy,
but carbs are poison to your body because they elevate blood sugar and
insulin
levels. They just perpetuate the vicious cycle. Insulin
resistance causes
weight gain, and in the last 14 years I have gained over 100 pounds!!
And, the
weight isn’t the half of it.
