Rare Heritage Turkeys
are not the kind you buy in the grocery store. They are not genetically
altered. The kind you buy in the grocery store were altered to have
double breasts so they have more meat on them. Our Rare Heritage
Turkeys are allowed to roam freely (free range) and are not fed any
kind of medicated feed or drugs.
So if we were to butcher them they would be healthier (and as rumor has
it, better tasting) but we have never butchered our own turkeys. We
also raise Guinea Fowl and various
kinds of chickens which I will add to the web site soon.
